Emmanuel Ametepey (Executive Director)

Emmanuel Ametepey is a Youth Development Consultant, founder of Youth Advocates Ghana (YAG), and Convener of the African Youth SDGs Summit, the largest youth-led SDGs platform in Africa. Passionate about governance, youth policies, and peacebuilding, he has spearheaded transformative programs impacting thousands across the continent of Africa. He has represented youth perspectives on global platforms, including the UN ECOSOC Youth Forum, the African Regional Forum on Sustainable Development, and the SDG16 Conference in Italy. Emmanuel holds a BA in Development Studies from the Presbyterian University, Ghana, an Executive Certificate in Development Policy from the University of Cape Town, and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Conflict, Peace, and Security at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre, Ghana.

Gifty Boahemaa Appea (Programmes Coordinator)

Gifty Boahemaa Appea is a dynamic and accomplished professional serving as the Programmes Coordinator at Youth Advocates Ghana (YAG), where she leverages over six years of experience in project management, youth engagement, and social advocacy. With a strong academic foundation, Gifty holds a Master of Arts in Development Studies from the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER) at the University of Ghana, coupled with a portfolio of impactful research and publications, including her thesis, “Peri-urban Transformation and Land Use Change: The Gendered Experiences of Indigenes and Migrants in the Akuapem South Municipality.”
At YAG, Gifty has spearheaded transformative initiatives such as the Youth for Health (Y4H) project, which addresses adolescent sexual and reproductive health in underserved communities, and the Hope Before Vows campaign, which combats child marriage and promotes gender equality. She has also led the Youth for Global Financing Facility (Y4GFF) project, advocating for youth-led solutions in health financing and policy, and the Youth for Immunization and COVID-19 Vaccine Uptake (Y4ICVU) project, which focused on increasing vaccine uptake and awareness among young people.
Her leadership has fostered partnerships, facilitated stakeholder dialogues, and implemented innovative strategies to address critical youth issues. A passionate advocate for youth empowerment, Gifty has represented YAG at numerous forums, showcasing solutions to global challenges while driving efforts to align youth programs with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Godfred Obeng Kwakye is a dedicated professional with a strong academic foundation in Geography and Resource Development from the University of Ghana. He brings a wealth of experience from diverse fields, including his roles as an intern with the Local Government Statistics Department and as a Teaching and Research Assistant at the University of Ghana. Currently, Godfred serves as the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Officer at Youth Advocates Ghana, where he applies his expertise to drive impactful initiatives and support organizational growth.

Dorcas Darlington is a passionate advocate for child protection and rights, dedicated to creating inclusive opportunities for all, particularly persons with disabilities. With a special commitment to supporting children with autism. Through advocacy, awareness, and action, Dorcas strives to build a world where every child can thrive, regardless of their circumstances.

Holding an LLB degree from the University of Ghana, Dorcas aspires to become a researcher and human rights policy analyst, with a focus on advancing policies that promote the welfare and rights of children, vulnerable populations, and marginalized communities.

Driven by a deep belief in giving back to society, Dorcas’s work is rooted in the understanding that true fulfillment comes from uplifting others, particularly those from underserved backgrounds. Gideon Adjei-Mawutor is a Partnership and Resource Mobilization Officer at Youth Advocates Ghana, where he leads strategic collaborations and fundraising efforts to drive impactful youth-focused initiatives. With a strong academic foundation in economics, philosophy, and gender studies, Gideon brings a multidisciplinary approach to advancing civic education, youth empowerment, and sustainable development. An accomplished researcher and public speaker, Gideon has presented at multiple international conferences on issues ranging from peace and security to gender and inclusive education. He is also a writer and editor, committed to promoting innovative solutions for Ghana’s and Africa’s development through thought leadership and advocacy.

Edward Angyinaa Ken-Zorre (Communications Associate)

Edward Angyinaa Ken-Zorre is a dynamic communications professional, youth advocate, and development strategist with a Master of Arts in Development Communication from the University of Media, Arts and Communication. His thesis focused on “Assessing Students’ Knowledge Of, and Responses to Climate Change in Ghana: A Study of the Nsawam Senior High School,”

His expertise lies in crafting compelling narratives, facilitating impactful campaigns, and driving community-based solutions for social change.

Edward specializes in youth engagement, democratic participation, and youth empowerment, using his communication skills to amplify marginalized voices. His experience includes leading capacity-strengthening workshops, hosting panel discussions, and advocating against pressing issues.

As a skilled strategist, Edward aligns his work with the United Nations’ SDGs, focusing on fostering inclusive, sustainable development.

NANA YAA AMOFA (Volunteer)

Nana Yaa Amofah is a Youth leader with six years’ experience at Youth Advocates Ghana (YAG). She has facilitated and moderated a number of youth programmes and also served as a youth discussant on issues of sustainable development, sexual right and reproductive health right and other youth related issues.
Due to her interest and passion for youth, she was appointed as the co-chair for the Power to Youth Consortium in 2021. She also served as the vocal person and youth leader for the Sustainable Development goal (SDG) goal of 16, i.e. Peace and Stability. She was the president of the prestigious Head of States Award club (HOSA) of Holy Child School where she facilitated a number of school programs. She pursued General Science at this same institution and graduated in the year 2022.
Nana Yaa aims to be a voice for the vulnerable youth in the society and Africa in order to empower them to unleash their potential and contribute their quota for the Development of Africa.
