organizational structure

YAG recognizes that staff are its primary and most valuable resource. They are integral to the achievement of organizational goals and objectives. YAG is committed to equal opportunities with fair, open and participative recruitment, management and development of staff. All the associates and employees of YAG can be broadly classified into two categories. These categories are as follows:

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors are a consortium of 5-9 people who have been selected to ensure that YAG stays aligned with its mission and proffer advice to management. YAG’s board of directors are selected based on their involvement and impact in their communities’, expertise in key youth subject areas, and potential network opportunities to further advance the organization’s impact.

Executive Council

This category includes staff personnel responsible for the coordination and administration of YAG’s activities to achieve its vision and goals. Such management activities include setting YAG’s strategy and coordinating staff efforts to achieve these objectives through judicious use of available resources. YAG’s executive council is headed by the Executive Director and forms the seniority structure of staff members within the organization. While the board makes the board decisions to guide YAG’s operation and Executive Council is responsible to ensure that such decisions are carried out.

Professional Category

This category includes all other staff members responsible for the day-to-day functioning, and implementation of YAG’s programmes and projects.

Volunteers/Interns

This Category includes local and international volunteers and interns who are temporary staff at YAG.
