Our Vision
A nation where children and youth influence decisions that affect their lives, enjoy their rights, and assume their responsibilities as full citizens
Mission
YAG works to transform the lives of children and youth by improving access to information and enhance participation in sexual and reproductive health, education and livelihood programmes.
This will be achieved by:
• deepening existing partnership relations with existing partners whilst at the same time defining and developing new alliances and partnership to achieve the mission. The choice of new partners will be determined by the context (extent of marginalization), type of interventions planned (advocacy vs. service delivery or type of expertise needed.
• demonstrating and stimulating ways of scaling up the delivery of sustainable and equitable services focusing on the adolescent and youth especially the excluded and marginalized girls.
• investigating barriers to access of the youth to services and information that affect their development. This will include making evidence-based arguments for improvement of the decentralized delivery of those services.
Goals
The Strategic Plan (2019-2023) for Youth Advocates Ghana has four (4) main goals (G1-G4) with focus on Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights, (SRHR), Participation and Enterprise Development, Education and Organizational Development. Each goal has a number of strategic objectives and activities it seeks to implement. The goals have also a number of expected outcomes/key result areas. A Result-Based Management (RBM) framework to guide programme design and implementation has also been developed as a supporting document to the Plan.
G1. Enable the youth/young people to make informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health and ensure that their human rights are respected, protected and fulfilled.
G2. Empower young people to participate and hold duty-bearers accountable to ensure equitable and sustainable services for children and youth.
G3. Provide educational and skill (enterprise-based) support for the development vulnerable children and youth.
G4. Strengthen the organization’s capacity to effectively and efficiently plan and implement programmes and projects.
